|Andrew Cuomo really doesn’t like conservatives. But don’t take our word for it – here’s what he told radio host Susan Arbetter:
"Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are, they have no place in the State of New York."
So there you have it. In Andrew Cuomo’s world, conservatives are all extremists and have no place in New York State. That’s really what he thinks.
Shortly after the interview, we called on him to apologize. When he refused to do so, New Yorkers on the street called on him to apologize:
The comment sparked outrage and made national headlines.
The New York Times quoted Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin: "I don’t agree with progressives on hardly anything. But I would never say that they have no place in the state of New York."
The Blaze featured a tweet from a Catholic Conference spokesman, who wondered if Cuomo would give him a state grant to relocate.
Hot Air reminded the Governor that he just told 48% of Americans that they’re not welcome in this state.
In The New York Post, Rob Astorino points out that Cuomo’s remarks espouse "just the kind of intolerance that is directly opposite to what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. preached." (Cuomo made the comments right around Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.)

Cuomo made the comments back in January. We’re still waiting for that apology.
